July 1-2
It was a sad day on the marina, Ed left us to day to go to LA to visit his sister, as we were slaving over the boat Ed was on the Magic Mountain riding in Disneyland....got to love it.

Dave actually read a manual and here is the proof. The crew was a happy bunch now that Matt is sleeping in mummy and daddy's room away from the snoring.

Everyone wanted to get up the mast, Matt has his turn yesterday and Jonno was up there today, I think they just like the ride in the chairs.
From the galley today we had Matthew with a lovely pasta dish, fresh tomotoes served with a selection of freshly cut sandwiches.
Dave was trying to find where I hid the chocolates but no one was giving it away.We got the mattress in the bunks today and fresh linen was supplied by Consala, she is such a great help.
Tomorrow is the 4th of July holiday and we have been told there will be fireworks at the marina so we are going to try out the new BBQ and have a couple of ales and let the fireworks entertain us.
We will be living aboard as from Saturday our time.
Our departure has been put back a couple of days due to the fact that we have so much work to do.
Stuck in Hawaii
There is a nasty hurrican off the coast of Hawaii so we have to stay here for a couple days more.....bummer.
We will be leaving on Friday for Palmyra a small atoll, looks gorgeous, not sure if I will have internet but if I do will give you an update
Surf has been pumping so Dave and Matt are very happy.
All good in Hawaii.
We took the Zodiac out for a spin, more difficult to drive and the Beverly Ann.
Next Stop Palmyra
Just to keep you all updated, we are hopefully leaving here on Monday (Aussie time Tuesday) to set off for Palmyra a small atoll 2 miles wide 1000 nm south of Hawaii. Hope we find it.
Not sure where I will be next able to get internet access, maybe Fiji.
The Hawaii Yacht Club has been an amazing find and the people have been a great wealth of knowledge.
Hope you are all happy and healthy back home.

Palmyra
We arrived in Palmyra yesterday, Friday night just in time for cocktails and debriefing.
We were invited to dinner by the lovely people here and it was so nice to have a cooked meal after 11 days at sea.
This atoll is 1000 nautical miles from Hawaii, yes in the middle of nowhere.
It is now a wildlife santuary and the birdlife here is amazing.
We are anchored in the lagoon which has turtles popping up to say hi and little manta rays.
We will go snorkelling this arvo and diving is not allowed, either is surfing which Dave and Matt are not happy about.
We have volunteed to help the researched tomorrow count turtles around the atoll as this atoll is now used as a research facility.
We will probably leave on the outgoing tide on Tuesday as we now have no motor.
Does anyone know where we can get a cheap Lehman/Peugot Diesel motor from.
Next update will be from either Samoa (US) or Fiji not sure depends where we can get a motor or at least the parts.
Over and out for now

Samoa
We have arrived in Samoa, Apia.
It was a little bumpy with 40+ knot winds and 25' seas but we managed. Beverly Ann did a great job. My camera has decided to stop working so I don't have any photos but we did do a little bit of video so will try and upload that....
We arrived here on Friday, as we don't have a motor the Port Authority had to tow us in, everyone in the Apia Marina now knows we have arrived, there were 3 boats and alot of yelling by the Samoan boys. They did a great job but it seems that every week a boat ends up on the reef. There is a container boat at the dock that hit the reef so it's not just the small ones.
We plan to work on the motor tomorrow to see what the problem is, Dave thinks that it is a piston so will check it out.
Monday we are off the explore the island, there are some good surf spots....so Matt and Dave want to get into that and I will give the diving a go.
We plan to be in Fiji in the next couple of weeks no rush as we are enjoying it so far. Dave and Matt have stopped yelling at each other and now pick on me.....waa
Hope all is well back home.

Australia
We have finally arrived in Australia.....well Bundaberg is close enough.
I have had trouble with internet access in Fiji and also did not have a camera to upload photos.
It has been an adventure.
We hope to be back in Sydney by the end of next week all going well.
We cleared customs and quarantine here yesterday then went out to dinner with Dave's brothers family, just a small group of 15 of us. It was a great night and we are just on the way to their place for a BBQ.
I now have a camera and the password to the blog so will keep you all up to date with the last few weeks of our travels.
We have a nice new motor, installed in Fiji. It took a little longer than we thought but worth it.
Matt is off sampling the rum at the distillery and I don't think we will see him until tomorrow.
He is with his 2 cousins that he hasn't seen for ages so they have alot of catching up to do.
The new addition Caleb is very cute and looks like his dad will have photos tomorrow.
We are all well and a little tanned.
Look forward to hearing from you all.

Fiji
Hi all,
We made it to Fiji with some lovely sailing on the way.
Nothing much happened except a Tsunami hit Samoa.
We found out it hit the southern side of the island where we stayed just 1 week prior.
The hotel we stayed out has been flattened and wont be taking guests until Feb next year.
We also found out the a man in the marina where we stayed was killed. Not sure of the circumstances but something to do with adjusting his lines on the dock when the water went out.
All good in Fiji we are having a new motor installed so very exciting stuff.
Hope to be off and out of here in the next couple of weeks.

Finished
We made it, got into Sydney early December, our welcoming committee on North Head and Dave bringing us into Sydney Harbour. It did take some time to get around to finish this off but all went well. Shame the camera died on the way.
For our next adventure we will be leaving Sydney in May 2010 to sail Bev up to Fiji where she will undergo a makeover of biblical proportions.
Stay tuned.......
