We made it
We are now in Hawaii.
We arrived on Friday night 5pm just in time for a debriefing and cocktails.
It has been an adventure.
We left San Francisco at 7am on the 14th July, once we were under the Golden Gate Bridge on our way it seemed such a relief until we heard Dave praying to Allah!!!! that was 1 hour after we got out the gate.
My memory of the first 4 days is only of the toilet bowl, freezing on watch at 2am and vomitting over the side of the boat. It was messy, even Jonathon had a chuck.....Matt was fine and saved us all with his crackers with vegemite cheese and tomatoe.
Once we finally got our sealegs the next problem was a cargo next attached to our rudder.
The boys all jumped over and cut it loose, it was full of crabs which then invaded the deck, died and smelled really bad.
We had a few calm days ,wind less then 4knots so we started to motor, that went well for about 3 days until the motor stopped, it ran out of oil we found out later but it needs a new one so will sort that out in Sydney as we can't get spares for the one we have.
We let Helga out of her box (the spinnaker) but she decided to pole dance with the roller furler at 3am one morning and cause no end of grief to all of us. We put her away and she can stay there......
We did catch a couple of Mahi Mahi which really do taste good, one was a hammer head.....ask Dave for details.
There are no photos as everytime I try to upload it crashes this computer....will try again.
Jonathon left today so we are on our own.
We hope to leave here on the 10th August and heading to an atoll called Palmyra, have had good feedback and from there we will head to Fiji.
We are all good, brown and enjoying the sailing.
Will be at the Hawaii Yatch Club if anyone want to send money ha ha.
Love to all
